$2500. Doesn't have seats, but pretty happy with it.

Pedal box, loom and dash all pulled from donor car. Just got to pull out the diff, rear suspension, fuel tank, tailshaft, carpet, doors, bootlid and the shell can go for scrap. That will all be done Friday, then it's on like donkey kong!

    Going..

    Going..

    Gone!

    Farewell, old friend..

When the shops open again, ordering a cam for the 304, looking at a Crane H276. Matching it up with a Rollmaster adjustable timing chain and a Chiptorque tune.

I'm just going to clean it all up for the moment and get it running, not go too crazy. Once it's all run in, I might look at hiding wiring and all that fun stuff.

    Progress:

Welch plugs changed, new seals and gaskets throughout, new water pump, Exedy HD clutch in. Extractors in, steering rack in, alternator on and hooked up, a few other bits of wiring in.

A bit behind where I wanted it to be, was given the wrong clutch by the local parts store. After they supplied me with the wrong cam.

Aiming to have it going by April 6, would make a hell of a birthday present.

    First startup:

VR V8 Conversion - First Start - YouTube

Borrowed an ignition module off a mate, tickled the timing and it was off. Wouldnt keep going though.

Hooked up the rest of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the radiator and all the rest of the fun bits, filled it up with water and...nothing. Cranks, but won't fire.

Hooked a noid light up to the injectors, no pulse. We swapped out the BCM/keyhead, no difference, but the dash lights stayed on. So that was changed back.

Checked error codes - got a Code 31 - Theft Deterrent Signal missing. So, unless I can figure out a way to bypass it, I'm going to try to get the immobiliser programmed out of the memcal, and put an aftermarket unit in at a later date. Bit frustrating. We had it running for just long enough to bed the cam in.

Hopefully it get sorted soon, I'm itching to drive it.

Ok, sent away the memcal, had the immobiliser tuned out, all good now.

Got it back after the roadworthy and wheel alignment - thats the only reason its on the 16s. Looked ok, but the 19s are back on now.

    Sorry abut the filthy car, and the iPhone pics, but here it is in all its glory;

Still have to rewire to foggies, re gas the AC and weld some tips on the exhaust, but I'm stoked. Havent been able to stop driving it.

I'll try to get some better pictures tonight.

WHY DIDN'T I DO THIS YEARS AGO?

Looking good mate. Why did you get the immobiliser tuned out? Mine was fine, the BCM reads the key not the ECU. The ECU just gets a signal from the BCM once the BCM recognises the key and accepts to.

That didn't work for me. I tried swapping the BCM and the key head over from the SS, no love. That just gave constant power to the dash lights. Swapped the BCMs back, tried the spare key. Whatever I did, it threw a Code 31, which is 'Theft Deterrent Signal Missing'. As soon as I got it tuned out, it ran and has perfectly since. It has an aftermarket alarm and immobiliser, so it's no big deal.
