Hey all, just picked this one up two weeks ago. To say it is in excellent condition is a gross understatement i think. Few little ad on's already done, but basically stock. Even the standard tape/6 stack stereo remains.. (although i will be selling this item, not a fan of stackers) Dash is untouched, interior is spotless. It's nice when you find a car that has been well looked after. Full up to date loggies in the glove box too...
I want to do some engine bay cleaning/detailing soon, but apart from this and a stereo change i think it will be staying the way it is now...
Has the following already done.
SS cold air intake
Big mouth filter
Cat back 2 1/2 twin
Lowered correctly with k-mac tops, king super lows, and all camber adjustment done correctly
VY GTS WHEELS, 19' 245-35-19 Nexen tyres.
Tint ( although will be getting this redone soon)

Nice one mate. go the barge
wheels look good on her. how many kms she got on her, and how much she set u back?
I picked up mine for 10k with 135 thou kms on her, full service books etc.. and 12months rego.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
geez, 6k thats good as.
mine also has fulll leather etc.. i took out the floor mats the other day, and the normal floor is spotless... like having a new car.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
i wonder why someone would spray the bottom half VS Series 2 silver, and not just leave the Series 1 grey??
things to do.
1. get a set of clear front indicators.
2. lower it more
3. rip the front mudflaps off.. and throw them as far as you can.
They are very nice cars, withe just the right amount of classic styling imo.. I need to find one little trim piece though, around the switched for the drivers seat... And no i won't be lowering it anymore then what it is at now... With the 19's on her, it sits just right for my liking, and i like being able to drive mine not just look at it..
Def staying the same height, but i did just take the flaps off the front.. And got a quote yesterday for new tint... But considering i had it at City suspension after a got it, and he said there has prob been about 2k spent under it in order to lower it correctly, this will not be getting changed at all... Maybe just some softer shocks, which he gave me a quote for while i was there for Borg shocks for the rear...
Just been downstairs starting to clean up the engine bay a little...Wil be getting the covers either polished or painted real soon. If i can find the same colour as the wheels i will paint thm all for sure.. Then i have a heap of braided lines here already waiting to go onto it...All takes time, but with such a good starting point to work with, it is a lot easier..
Before i even started playing..
After today..

Looks really neat mate. What future mods have you got planned?
Not a lot to change appearance at all.. Maybe go a nice cam, some minor head work, and auto work... I have owned a 355 stroker before, so might see about that again too.. But it is just a nice cruiser more then anything else...
she sits nicely mate congrats on the pick up aswell for the price u paid cant go wrongshe looks nice and seems like came from a good home..
looks like a nice comfy ride aswell![]()
It is a bit hard getting used to driving a lounge suite, but even my old HX stato was the same.. I like having style as well as power, so this goes both ways ..
Got a bit carried away with the engine bay tonight, just finished it now ( 1.30am)

looks good man
wat did u use to spray the covers?
Just some vht red i had here.. I have had that since i had my rex, so was good to use it i guess.I really want to spray them all in the same colour as the wheels, but no luck finding it yet..
nice state! love the interior of the caprices all it needs it some tlc and a grange or vs3 kit...btw did u have to get new gaskets or anything like that after pulling the rocker covers off?
You got a bargain!
6K here wont even get you into a VQ caprice in that condition.
Its screaming out for some bigger brakes. And a stock CAI (HSV or Holden). SS inductions are butt ugly, and ruin your whole engine bay i think.

Thanks all.... Bigger brakes are on the cards real soon. I got new gaskets and used them anyway, i would never pull rocker covers off without replacing them while i was there. No kit will be going on it at all, the door skins, and side skirts are it! And the SS cold air will be staying too.. It was on the car when i bought it, and it's NOT a HSV, so why use hsv badged bits? I like the look, and quite frankly i think the SS would get a heap more cold air then a HSV set up anyway...
The difference wouldn't even be noticeable. If there even is any. Which i'm sure there isn't.
Holden also make a CAI, its the exact same design, without the HSV badge. Its your car man, but in my opinion, thats the only thing thats lets it down.

imo the ss inductions have a nice appearence in the bay
thats why i chose it over the hsv cai ..
+ has a better induction noise to![]()
dw mate leave her how she is
i personaly tried both the cai's and found the SS to be more effective
and appearence is much better to
![]()
Oh it will be staying just the way it is.. Even if i go with the stroker again i will keep the SS .. One person's oppinion will never make any bearing on ANYTHING i do to my car... I was just reading up on the SS induction site, up to 60% more air intake when combined with the big mouth air box as i have, over the HSV. So no competition as far as i am concerned..
The other benifit is that i don't have to look at the top of the radiator anymore.... Big bonus...
