Haha, I know what u mean about that hey... Im a perfectionist, and i hate driving a car with things that piss me off.... Im in the middle of re spraying mine, just coz the body had dings and paint peeling and looked like shit.... My interior looks like shit 2, but It runs like a dream and has a mean note, (Don't have my whole sound system in yet) But i know what u mean about that one thing that is got, mine is the exhaust note haha.

Yeah I'm a bit of a perfectionist with my cars too. It runs in my blood so I can't help it.
It shits me though because I'm working massive hours at the moment and there are new rattles and crap popping up that I have no time to fix.
Not to mention it pretty much looks white at the moment because of the dust from 100 trucks driving past it every day on a limestone rd at work

haha, yeah, and bein a dark colour like yours would be a bitch to keep clean... mine gets pretty dirty 2... Parks outside a boat / Fiberglass workshop every day, and gets abrasive glass dust on it, scratches the shit outta it. So im gonna use my car cover every day after i spray it. I gave up on rattles with mine, the suspension is so stiff it just vibrates the crap out of everything.

Whats the name of your cars colour by the way, i quite like it...

Genesis Blue it is. Its my favourite of the VS colours. Looks amazing if it ever clean. The combination of stiff springs/shocks and big subs = lots of new rattles every day. Rattles are the 1 thing I cant stand in any car

Err, which install is that? If you are talking about the clarions, since then I have gone back to 1 10" opposite the spare wheel, and now have 2 12" vibes in their pre-fab box up on the diff hump

With the clarions, I was going to do a false wall type thing, but ended up with the 2 seperate boxes so I could easily take 1 or both out if I needed to

    Here's a fun fact!
I clicked over another milestone on the odometer yesterday and had a bit of a think about it.

In 12 months of driving this car, I've driven 30,000km's, which works out to about 150 days straight behind the wheel, spending around $4000 on fuel alone in that time.

No wonder it keeps breaking, its telling me it wants a rest

Disclaimer: Calculations were done in my head after very little sleep, and 150 days seems like a LONG time, so feel free to prove me wrong

Ah i was meaning the install with the two 12's on the diff hump.
I'm doing a false wall in the back , with the box sitting behind the wall on the diff hump, and the front of the false wall also acting as the front of the sub box, so the sub can fit flush in the front. i'll put some pics up tonite or tomorrow in the car audio section.

Is a bitch of a job to do, make everything fit well but am almost ready for carpeting now

Fun fact indeed... However your calculations are wrong.
30,000km / 100km/h = 300 hours... So 12.5 days straight. 150 days would mean you were driving half of every day since you got the car. I'll do you one better though, I've owned my car for around 20 months... I've done 65,000kms.

Also, one of my mates dads just bought a... wait for it... car hoist. I have access to a hoist. Win.

Yeah I figured I probably averaged 70something kph though. Still, fairly wrong. And I have actually owned the car longer, it just has 12 months of driving time...

    Also, I'm stealing that hoist

How big are the bolts? I might need a bigger spanner.
Although I'm sure the XW would have the torque to pull it out and drag it home. Maybe thats a better idea

Good news! No internet at home means more time for fixing my car! Air con now works, all windows now work, brake booster that I cracked on the Black Spur is replaced.

As soon as a couple other little things are sorted out, its time to say bye bye to ponies, and hello new hotness

Just done a massive service to get it ready for the sale. Tranny and diff service, all filters, plugs, leads, fluids etc. Will throw on new front brake pads and maybe 2 new tyres as well.
Trying to make it as appealing as possible before writing up a "for sale" thread

I'm after something either a little lighter or a little newer and more luxurious. I still love the VS shape though, so it's a tough decision. I would definately have to get the right price for it

So I didn't exactly sell it...couldn't find anything I liked enough.

But, on a better note! Looks like I might be done with mods to this puppy. I've just got myself a new toy!
    *not the exact car

Its been in the family since brand new, but hasn't been started in quite a few years. At the moment it's 5 hours away, but next weekend I'm heading up to check it out, work out a final price, then see if I can get the bad boy started.
It's likely to sit around out in the sticks until next year when I move house and have enough shed space for a project car, but then I'll get it cleaned up, warm up the old 302 and be able to cruise in style!

Oh yeah, I also have a MACE 12mm plenum spacer, cai and memcal now. Heaps more low-down torque!
Added a bit of sound deadening here and there...I don't think I've done too much more lately

When you first installed the Manifold insulator (was it 12mm or 25mm?) did you notice a change in the torque or did the torque band just shift down? What I mean is, did you lose alot of the higher end pull which the Ecotec's have, whilst gaining low down torque?

I didn't notice any loss of torque at the top end. It just felt like there was less sitting around waiting for the revs to climb before it really started moving you along.

I know, I love it. It isn't that exact car, but its the same model, same colour, same wheels...only other red one I've ever seen. Can't wait to get down there and try getting it cranked up.
Need a bigger shed though. My boss said I could have kept it at work if he hadn't just bought another hotrod. So keen to get it to Melb and start cleaning it up
