**** man they came up well! Did you clear coat them? I'm going to do what Grennan suggested, fill the Holden lion badge and the "Injection" badges with blue tac and then paint it all. I'm doing mine black too i think, to match my car.

You just use masking tape to mask the stripes on the front cover? How the **** does the front one come off?

bahahaha, blu tak nice one. Just don't spray it too heavily per coat, or the paint will seep under the blu tac

marcus, those covers look sweet You should try using a fine modelers paintbrush and some acetone to clean out the lion symbol. Just take your time. You can get acetone from Repco/Autobarn/Supercheap/Bunnings or if you want it cheap, from a specialised retailer like a fiberglassing distributor. That's where I get mine in Brissy $4 for a litre.

Looks good marcus, but u really need the lion silver with the other bits silver, looks odd without it.
Other than that they come up nice!

This gives me an idea, i might try the reverse of what Marcus did, i might paint mine all black, then mask up the lines, Holden badge and the "injection" badge, then paint silver.......

no i didnt clear coat them & they did come up good, better then i was expecting but i still ****ed up a little on the front peice, im going to get a VS front peice, it has a different but better holden badge, take a look at yours cobez it will be the circle holden badge instead of the one on mine.

4 coats of primer, 3 coats of silver & 3 coats of black, no clear coat, i dont really want it glossy, i might get it painted to match the car when im getting the skirts done, ill see how i feel.

front peice comes off with just a wing nut underneath it, dont loose the wingnut or you will spend ages looking for the right size.

yea i used masking tape on the stripes, was a prick to get it straight, took me bout 30 min to just tape up the stripes on all of em.

got sick of looking at the engine with the covers off, so i chucked em back on, but i painted the bolts first, i ****ing love quick-dry paint.

i rekon it looks alright but i got to do the rocker covers & bananas soon to make it all look neat.

i want to paint mine but im not going to be able to till the weekend, its bugging the **** out of me.

the airbox looks ****loads better & almost solved my dislike for the bumpy piping coming off them, but i still got to get something to replace the stuff on there atm.
