wow wats with all the Kms???
hows it run?
looks to be in not bad condition but![]()
Woah no kidding and I thought my car with the 279k was getting up there. Has the motor had a recon or anything like that in all those k's?
km are all on the original trans and motor, no rebuilds and none in sight for a while *crosses fingers* lol. i bought the car at 200000km and have owned it for 3 years, before fuel prices went up i was driving anywhere and everywhere so didnt take long to rack up the kms. also travelling long distances for work doesnt help but im pretty happy with it, may look a little rough round the edges atm but runs extremely well!

cruise and towbar fitted, gotta love those hayman reece tow hitches!
I have been keeping all data on my fuel purchased and km for the past 6 months and these are the figures i have got so far
figures for 1st Jan to 31th March:
8143km
1026.76L of fuel
which converts to 12.61L p/100km
figures for 1st April to 30th June:
8112km
976.84L of fuel
which converts to 12.04L p/100km
so overall
16255km
2003.60L of fuel
economy is 12.33L p/100km
these figures are based off highway and town driving. I havent been recording what sort of trips i did as it varies considerably day to day but that seems to be the best i can produce out of it. If you check what Holden "claims" these will get with about 50% highway & 50% town (which is roughly what my driving is) this figure should be approximately 10.5L/100km
just fitted LED front parkers (white) LED stop/tail light globes, LED rear parker globes and LED rego plate lights. next on the list is LED reverse, and indicator globes right around. They definately look better than the standard globes and react quicker which is great!
So.. Ecotecs can handle kms too, hey? My VN hit 500,000 a while back and hasn't had any real problemsbut that's pretty special on an Ecotec!
Get intake exhaust tune you'll see slightly better fuel results

nice effort out of your car, my ecotec has just hit 320 so I can't wait to catch up :P
yeah those figures are completely wrong now as i have since replaced the O2 sensors so the economy is better and the trans needs to be serviced but I think after its been serviced it should be even better. i noticed that after replacing the O2 sensors i was using about 3-4 l/100km less, but what can i expect after having never replaced them in the life of the car. i will post up new economy figures as soon as i have serviced the trans.
haha yeah replacing the oxygen sensors is definitely worth doing.. my VN responded much the same.

just did a trip from home to phillip island then around the island a bit, accross to wonthaggi drove around there a bit and back home so about 400km and got a fuel average of 9.7L/100km so it looks like the O2 sensors were one of the issues here but im glad its improving. normally this trip would of brought back approx 13L/100km
well the day finally came, the poor old commy has had enough and wants a rest. The trans gave out on me and the motor wasnt far behind. Did just over 700,000km. No rebuilds, just the normal parts that needed to be replaced with age, altho the suspension etc was starting to become a tad sad too. Now im looking around for a wagon. Possibly a VZ or even a VE if im lucky.
WOW 700,000 you deserve a medal
Odo photo ???
i dont have a pic of the odo as i upgraded to a level 3 dash just over 300,000km ago. I got it with 000,000km but the original dash had about 370,000k on it, this one has 3##,###km on it so its just over 700k
That's a fair effort with the k's it covered! You must've looked after her well. VZ or a VE would be a good upgrade, you'll find they are a fair bit heavier than the VS but they are a better car overall.
