    Default The Classifi3d Calais

    Well I thought it was about time that i made a thread about my car
    Model:
    Its a 1995 Series 1 VS Calais. Its comfy as hell and has a few personal touches, like the smelly xmas tree that hangs from my center light!!!

    I bought it off a Law firm who used it as a company car from 1995-2000. It then got used occasionally for the next 8 years. In the first 5 years it did 125,000kms then from 2000-2008 it did 5000kms!!!
    Its well looked after with full service history.


    Colour: Botanica Mica (scratched and dented)
    Bodykit: Nil
    Engine Type: Ecotec
    Engine Mods: Tune, Roller rockers, CAI
    Exhaust: Single 2.5" catback and high flow cat. No extractors yet
    Gearbox: Kitted auto
    Diff: 3.08 ****ed LSD
    Suspension: Soft and **** standard

    Stereo is a Pioneer head unit, Pioneer amp with rear Blaupunkt 3ways and 2 6inch Blaupunkt subs

    Iv got a few mods still to come. TTB and cam included.

    yer iv been sooooo lazy about making a thread. Oh well

    Lover it, what do you mean? it gets lowered every thursday for about an hour when i go and pick up the alcohol for work. 20slabs dumbs the guards over the tyres and it handles like a beast.

    hahah i dont want it that low. Maybe SL in the front and SSL in the back.

    Or just 25" wheels, that will hug nicely haha

    not yet. Im really want to get a respray, there are some scratches and dents. So im thinking when i get my other car painted ill speak to them about getting a 2 car discount
    So ill go all the chrome and indicators etc then

    just had a chat to a couple of cam grinders about getting something with a bit more power. They all want $700odd for them though, Supply only. One grinder told me he wont sell cams for an ecotec unless he does the tuning...$1250 supply of memcal and cam, no install.

    I think ill keep looking

    Why do you want a custom cam for just an ecotec? Just get an off the shelf one...
    Or better yet.. save your money and put it towards something useful

    good point, off the shelf would probably be a better option.

    As for something useful, well i for some stupid reason want one of those lemon Adventra's. I miss ours (went back to Telstra when my dad quit) I learnt to drive in it and although it got camber wear after 10,000kms, it rattled and was as weak as a XF falcon, body rolled worse than my car and was AWD. I want one. Iv been looking at can pick them up for $15-19k ish for a 04-06 LS1.

    Car is off the road, i think if sheared a valve head or broken a valve spring. Not 100% sure exactly but should have the car back from the mechanics within the week.

    Boooo, get a V8, who gives a **** how much you spent on the Ecotec, you will just keep pouring more and more cash into it and keep losing out more and more when it keeps ****ing up. You say it owes you, it owes you nothing lol.

    I spent more on my VP than you have on your Rattletec VS, doesn't matter how much you spend, you will never even get half of it back. Give it up before you spent TOO much.

    Would be cheaper to buy a new car. After you buy the engine, trans, looms, ECU, K frame etc etc etc, plus labour etc, you could easily buy a VS 304.

    But in the FG thread you said you didn't want a VS again or anything older.

    I disagree on it being cheaper to buy a new car. If you buy a wreck and do the work yourself it wouldn't set you back too much by the time you sell of the other parts. In saying that, it would be EASIER to buy a new car

    im not sure what ill do, if i need to replace the engine ill do it myself, iv done that before, its just a pain in the ass.

    If you need my help you can always ask Let me know what the mechanic says and if you need parts or the heads done i will help you out of coarse its the least i can do for you
