Its really good! It must be the angle i took the photo on because believe it or not but the very highest part of the sub is only marginally higher ijn my rear vision than my boot spoiler! the 6x9,s sit about the same height as the spoiler! but overall rear view vision is fine wich was important to me on this install!

Mate that shelf looks great!
How much difference is the sound from the sub being there than being in the boot? Which sounds better?
A sub in the boot in a proper sized enclosure will be better for louder bass but this sub is a more clean sounding punchy sub and in this case imo the sub sounds better on the shelf! but I mainly built this setup for conveinence of boot space/practicality with family duties, and a unique system in the car! Actually sometime in the future i would like to make another shelf but i would design the area around the sub differently with some more mdf, and drop a small design SPL 12" in there just toy with it to see what kind of bass i could really get out of one of these enclosures, i really think it has alot of potential! The other great thing is that there is plenty of bass inside the cabin without ANY rattles outside/inside (yes couldnt believe it myself lol) but overall very pleased with the outcome![]()

Got around to making a trip gauge holder turned out pretty good! Only just got the lights all hooked up for them yesterday, been flat out with work so will have to wait for a day next week when i can hook the actual gauge side of things up! I got the boost gauge for when the L67 goes in (probably in a month or 2) and it was on sale @ rice barn lol! I also got a genuine ss lip kit (minuss front lip which i will have to scour ebay for) wich has been trial fitted and removed for sanding/painting looks pretty good and im happy with it

Hey man what type of tail lights you got there , are they altezza?
^^ yea mate, they are the black background altezza style lightslook good i think
personally i'd stick with silver mate, but thats imo. Another idea you could try is painting the whole car panther including th estandard silver bits, and then paint the kit silver![]()

Cheers fellasYeah vs_commy5506 as CruznCalais's said they are altezza lights with a black background! I got them off cars,r,us on ebay for 280ish i think, cant remember lol
i really like them on the car, & imo i think they look alot better than the stocko,s that where on it! CruznCalais's, i thought about painting the whole car one color but i like the 2 tone alot so im going to just paint the kit silver! I am on the hunt @ the moment for a genuine front bar in my local area, Holden @ springwood has one but its over $400 and they also want gst aswell
Im also getting a genuine key head programmed to the car next saturday for $120 (inc the key head) wich im stoked about as my old key has seen better days
anyway have to head off to work now so will catch up latter fellas

hey mate the calais is looking great! i love the custom trimming youve done on the roof and doors. The speaker pods look sweet with the crushed velvet. Ive done most of my interior in black velour/suede. That parcel shelf is a nice piece of work too. Id hate to be the poor kid in the booster haha.
damn CX, your car is so sweet looking, I love the way you incorporated the gauges in there as well, pity about having to cut up the calais interior to do it though![]()
nice ride mate love the calais
cool parcel shelf
any future mods mate??
Cheers for the comments fellasBeen doing some repairs on the old girl lately! had to get a new radiator and drivers side door weather strip, oh and new key head from holden
I also fixed an irritating problem with the car not wanting to start on occasion (was being caused by the key reader not being aligned with the key properly) but now thats all sorted its back onto the road of modification
I have rubed back all the lip kit/primed and painted it, but the paint was the wrong shade (cheers autobarn
) Soooo Due to my lack of experience in this feild i am getting it professionall painted around the corner for $400! I am also looking @ some 19" rims on flea bay, will keeps yas posted

Shit dude, you did so much work on the damn parcel shelf!
I cbf so just slapped in some 6" Sony's and the sound decent. My sub's in my boot, but i have it sitting so I can fold down the centre bit so it blasts the cabin
Looks fair decent, you gonna change the rims at all?

CX This car is an inspiration, what an excellent example of a good clean VS that didn't blow holes in a bank account.
Love your work and your good taste.
