Cheers guys. Next on the list is going to be the exhaust, have decided to go with the 2.5" twin system over the single 3". Hopefully that will be going on before christmas, then it's time to save for the new manifold!

Thanks Dave, I have sussed out most of the wiring, the only thing I am unsure of is where the taco output is. I have looked at the wiring diagrams and I know what colour all the wires are, but I have no idea where the taco ouptut wire is. I'm taking it to an auto elec next saturday after your party to get it installed, just to be safe. If I did it I would use crappy connectors and put electrical tape everywhere, so probably better somebody else does it with solder and proper tools. Looking forward to you boys getting back, friday will be a good night!

The MSD ignition control is in, I wanted to mount it on the side of the strut tower but couldn't get a drill in there to make the holes so it's up the back out of the way for the moment until I can figure out what to do with it. I didn't notice too much of a difference, although starting is easier and quicker, and idle is a little bit better as well. I will keep experimenting with the plug gaps to see what works best for this setup.

New exhaust is next on the list.

Well other than cutting the springs I couldn't really give you any other advice. I really know bugger all about suspension, best off asking a question in the vr-vs section.

Yea I should take it out for a spin, I was thinking about one tonight actually but it's a bit late now. Did you get your timing sorted at Hi Flow?

dont worry i hit the town last night, hard! haha
yeh went to hi flow, checked over it and he reckons it isnt the timing but instead maybe a blocked injector. anyway, so I bought all new heater hoses (just coz they need changing), new dizzy cap, rotor button and I will take the injectors out to get cleaned and tested and chuck the new stuff on at the same time.

I felt the urge to take it for a thrash last night, but once I took the car cover off and jumped inside, I realised the battery was flat. BUGGER! I'm hoping my neighbour or somebody close has a pair of jumper leads, I'm really itching to take it for a drive again, and get it tuned to suit the new ignition parts.

Fair enough, it will make a big difference on the street that's for sure. Well I bought some black pursuit rims the other day, and the plan is to go for the drag car look, so I'm getting quotes on having the back two widened to be able to fit some wider tyres, probably around 245-265. And it also needs a tune and a twin exhaust, now that I have the msd 6al2 I can wind some more timing into it without risking any pinging, so I think a tune is next on the list, along with the wider rear tyres. I'll post some pics up when I get the wheels done.

I'm a little unsure of where to go next with the engine, I will still be going with the new twin exhaust, but I just can't figure out what I want to do afterwards. I have been thinking more and more about slapping a turbo in there, but I don't know much about how the banana manifold would go with a turbo. So far the options tossing around in my head are:

1: Torque power manifold, which would probably bump power up to around 300+rwhp, but won't go well with forced induction.

2:Torque power manifold, bigger cam, higher stall, and 3.9 diff gears. Power could be anywhere from around 330rwhp and upwards. It would probably become a bit of a pig to drive, but I don't drive it too much anyway so it wouldn't really bother me.

3: Turbo setup, which I presume could be quite cheap if I sourced my own parts. Either keep the standard bananas, or add a come twin throttle manifold. Depending on how things went with the manifold, and with the right setup, I could be looking at over 400rwhp. The other things I need to think about with the turbo idea is my current compression rating, and whether or not I could still use the 286 cam.

I guess I'm looking for the best bang for buck option, and am keen to see what other people think. Feel free to give me your ideas or opinions.

hey man i reckon u go with torque-power manifold, solid cam,3500-4000 stally and 3.7 diff gears. i still need bigger stally and diff gears then im set but thats what i would do man.oh AND I got stock heads just cleaned up,gotta get em flowed n shit then should make around 270-280rwkw.chuck more pics up of ur beast man.

How big is the cam you have now? Yea well a nice solid cam with a fair bit of lump to it would be sweet, definately one that makes more power up in the higher revs. Have you got 4 bolt mains? I don't, and I don't really want to pull the engine apart to change them, so I don't really want to rev it past 6500, which is why a turbo would be a good idea because I could make heaps of power without making it spin too fast. I'm keen to hear people's opinions on this...

This is a very good read mate. Ive just finished doing my engine with similar specs except the cam and mine isnt a stroker. But yea , it cost a pretty penny.
Good luck with the direction you go mate, she will be a weapon when its done.
