    Default Djmenows 94 VR 5Ltr

Here is my 1994 VR 5Ltr Auto Duel/Fuel Commodore.

I bought it about 3 months ago. I sold a VL to buy this.

It has done 220000kms. Motor was completely rebuilt at 208000kms (top and bottom end). It had a sports cam put in. It has Cold Air Intake, Duel Fuel was installed around the same time and the heads were modified for the gas. New Ignition Coil was installed.

Since I have had it I have put on the 17 inch mags and tyres. I have installed my pioneer deck, MTX Speakers, Jensen Amp and JBL Sub.

Future mods I would like: Extractors, 2 1/2inch Exhaust. Lowered Springs and Shockies and Tint.

Sorry about the quality of some of the pics but I will upload more when I get some more.

Yeah definately not an SS but the previous owner put on the stickers and dash emblem. I like them except everyone thinks that I am up for a drag which I am not. I love my car and I look after it. I push it a bit but I will never thrash it. I am not sure what make it is. All I know it is a 1994 VR Exec 5Ltr.
I have always wanted a V8 and when this had come up and the guy showed me the receipts for the $7000 he spent on the motor a few months before I could not resist. I have not noticed any difference in the power with the LPG side of it.

    Nice car mate.

got anything else planned for her?
He had it advertised on Ebay and I was the highest bidder at the time but he also advertised it locally where I 1st saw the ad and I went and saw it and had to have it so I didnt actually buy it off Ebay (I was hoping to buy it cheaper than I did but bought it for $5760). I would be worried if I went to buy a car off ebay without actually looking at it in the flesh.

I am getting pricing tomorrow for either a 2 1/2 or 3 inch cat back exhaust (cant afford extractors ). I want it louder than it is (it has a nice V8 note atm but I want it louder). Is a hotdog addition recommended on the V8 2 1/2 or 3 inch cat back exhaust? If I end up upgrading the exhaust I will put on a duel tip just like the SS (to match my stickers lol.).

I want to lower it about 1 1/2 inches so the tyres wont rub and am getting pricing for that as well tomorrow.

Depending on pricing I will decide which way I go for my 1st mod since I bought it (well except for me putting on the 17 inch rims and tyres and upgrading the stereo).

I got a few prices today. Do they sound right?

Lowered (approx 40mm) and New Lowered Shocks plus alignment $1230.

2 1/2 inch cat back exhaust with dual tip $450 installed (I did ask for a hotdog to be included in that price so I hope he included in the price).

that 1230 sounds expensive for springs and shocks.

Springs are about $140 a pair, and shockers not much less. Fitting should not cost $600.
What company is it? If its pedders, thats your problem. Buy the parts, and have a different mechanic fit them.

The exhaust sounds about right tho.

Nah I got the quote from Ian Diffen.

Since I am a bit of a 'not so bright about the inner working mechanically of a car', I went outside and measured the exhaust pipe and it seems to be 2 1/2 inches. I assume a 2 1/2 inch system is the measurement from top to bottom of the pipe? If so it seems I already have a 2 1/2 inch system cat back system.

If so how much would extractors cost to add on this system installed?

I do have a 2 1/2' system as I have had checked. I got quoted for a Lukey 3' Cat Back system installed for $700 from Carline. Does that sound reasonable? He suggested for better performance and a better sound that is the way to go.

Also does that sound right? If I am going to spend $700 on a cat back system it better be good. Also he quoted for a Lukey S/Steel tip around $180 installed.

3in is about right for a 5L. But if your planning any sort of performance work later on, spent the extra on a twin 2.5.

Singles never sound 'good' when comparing to a twin.

Cost 2000, but was worth every cent.

Did you get a 2nd opinion on the suspension stuff?

Nah not yet. I am deciding what mod I am going to do. Either Lowered, Tint, Exhaust.

I have about $700 bucks to spend.

Well the decision is made, the car is in for the work involved and tonight I will have a new Lukey 3" Cat Back System on my car.

    Looking forward to it.

I will post pics on the weekend.

Here are the pics of the exhaust. Not the best pics but what I have thus far.

I love the sound of the new system. Definately more meatier and louder. Money well spent me thinks.
