    Default Reflector's 1996 VS Acclaim

Well just got this car, gone from a 1988 Ford Lazer to this 1996 Holden Acclaim VS Series II.

Very nice step up and I thought I'd bring it here to show fellow holden lovers.

Just got the 18" mags fitted today . I'll upload another photo tomorrow from the rear because I have the custom VS Read Lights and a "mock" carbon fiber panel above the number plate.

Tell me what you guys think .

There's more photos through out the thread, but here's the link to exhaust

Haha thanks man. I plan on getting Super Lows to bring it down to a real "eye catcher" level and later on get the exhaust done. Atm it looks pretty good but most things are stock except for the cold air induction kit and the speakers (well, I'm fitting the rest of them this week).

I know someone with either a white vn or vr (I think) and he's gone and gotten super (maybe super) lows on it with 20" chrome rims, looks brilliant against a white well kept car. Then again, black mags stand out against a white paintjob so it's really up to a personal choice . Just really think about it before you blow money on something you didn't really want .

Well I FINALLY got off my ass and I now have some before and after (updated) shots. If you have any feed back, love to hear it!

I'll list the current and future mods too.

    Current:

    Engine: Standard V6 3.8lt Ecotec - 69mm Throttle Body
Suspension: Lowered with King Springs Super lows (vehicle has IRS)
    Wheels: 18'' Chromes
    Taillights: Clear Sports Style
Bulbs: In some photos I have Narva Arctic Blues with blue LED parkers. As of current I have Narva Ultra Blues (will have to update with newer pictures).
    Airfilter: KnN sports filter
Cooling: Cool air induction (the super charged version)
Exhaust: Cat-Back in 2 1/2" Lukey exhaust with muffler, resonator and a single dump tip

    Future:
Engine: Possible rebuild or lower k's drop and 'hot' it up
    Dash: Converting to blue LEDS
Interior Lighting: Change lense to clear with Ice Blue style bulb
ECU: Possibly modding to a race chip and re-programming internal computer (will test on dyno to see if it's worth it, my dad does ECU programming)
Transmission: Stage 2 shift kit with complete automatic rebuild (when I get the spare cash, anyone else have this done? What's the rough cost? I got quoted $1400)
Performance: Supercharge (intercooled) (Once I'm off my P's, 1 year left)
Exhaust: HPC coated Pacemaker Extractors + High flow cat, complete system done in 2 1/2" and change to a twin dump tip. (God damn it, the green lights a go when I get my tax return!)

looks the goods with the rims and lowered. with the idea about building the auto tho...just sell it and buy a manual conversion ^_^ theyre not hard to do, and with a clutch you'll have heaps more fun. one question tho? has it got a lsd? if not maybe get one with 3.45s in it and it should definitely go a bit quicker.

Man I really really would like to convert it to manual, but my dad's an EFI specialist and mechanic and he reckons there's no point to it and they're expensive too. Nothing like driving a manual though.

I bought some ultra lows for the back so I'm see how they sit. Anyone else got super lows in the front and ultras in the back? How's it sit?

Sorry for the double post but I've got some dash photos to show

First one is of my parkers, they're the Narva Ultra blues, look awesome from a distance. Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera off macro so the long distance shots of parkers and lights didn't work out

Next set is just the dash plain, then lit up with new Blue LEDS

    @ buddaboy1990
Hmm well tbh with you man, it hasn't rained since I put them in so I remain positively hopeful I can see when it does! I'm looking at getting these Altezza Style Headlights and also the clear style indicators aswell. I just hope that they don't become TOO blue because the lamps are much clearer. Yeah man, I've been told by several people (even ford supporters :P) that the VS's are the most solid of the commodore range. But damn you for having an SS :P

    @ fergie_vs
Man I know someone that's got SSSL's *Well custom springs, he cut ultras down* BUT (yes they do make SSSL's, I buy direct from kingsprings and the guy reassured me there's 2 different sets lower then the Super Lows) and his car sits really really low. Too low because it's ever so slowly damaging the back tyres, but he hasn't had much trouble with the cops. (Btw, we're in brisbane for the record). I think Ultra's are fine because I see alot of people with them in around my area, and the place is literally crawling with cops day to day. With my dad being a mechanic and all, he made sure everything was fitted properly with Kmac bearing plates etc... So hopefully it will sit fine with Super lows in the front and Ultra's in the back. If not... might go both Ultras or back to supers. Will just have to wait and see!

Ha well I think they suite the car because of the cars colour + the backing of the lights. But they came with the car when I bought em so I've left em.

Will be putting the ultras in the back this wednesday so I'll post comparison pictures. Extracts + high flow cat + rest done in 2.5" will be done either this week or next week too.

Yeah no problem man, pics are a must. I think I'll make a recording of how it sounds now (with the cat back done in 2.5" muffler + resonator) and with the new set up aswell, should be good.
