    Default My VR Exec beater

I bought this in december '07 at 253,000ks for $1900. It had been owned by an elderly couple, so had its fair share of battlescars, but was (and still is) mechanically sound. Also, its one of the ones with the crap paint that flaked and peeled off.

    Name: Andrew
    Model: Sept. '93 VR Exec
    Colour: Silver/Grey/basecoat/black
    Bodykit: 0
    Engine Type: 3800
Engine Mods: Bellmouth cut in half, with the top edge opened to match the plenum opening, Ported heads with oversized valves, yella terra 1.65:1 ratio roller rockers, delcowizid tune
Exhaust: Coby extractors, 3 inch pipe to a flowmaster chambered muffler, then 2.5" out through a resi and a twin 2" tip (chopped up factory y-piece)
    Gearbox: Automatic
Brakes: Standard with ferodo exel pads
Suspension: FE2 front struts with HD link pins. Previous owner also fitted a couple of nolethane bushes in place of stock.
Wheels/Tyres: VS exec alloys with 205/60 r15 all around
Interior: dodge as cup holders in center console lid
Other Mods: Grille inserts and spoiler from Berlina
    Stereoony bluetooth headunit
Build Period: N/A - I just buy parts when I see them for a good price
Cost: Car - $1900, Wheels and tires - $53, Replacement lenses/panels/rear bumper $80, $400 for heads, $300 for exhaust, $350 for headunit, $50 front struts,
Future Mods: Twin throttle manifold then possibly turbo or a hot NA cam
This was it when it first arrived in Dec. '07
Note Split in corner of bumper and rusting crease below the taillight.

This is it as of Feb. '09

Note crap silver paint on the bonnet. Two light coats, Then I decided I wanted to wash it all off half an hour later. Pretty good, considering

And the rear bumper and taillight panel off a VR acclaim - I got both for $55

This week, I fitted a 2 1/2" cat back I pulled off a wrecked VN V8 Calais a mate had in his yard, and today fixed my odometer and sticky fuel/temp guages. Have also stripped the blue paint off the wheels and fitted 215/60 asymmetric bridgestones to the rear.

I was also offered a set of HSV spec (FE2?) koni springs and shocks for a hundred bucks, So Il hopefully be buying those and fitting them some time soon as my factory shocks and springs are stuffed.

Havent updated in a while. Car is a bit different now. Fitted some VN heads that have had a fair bit of work done to them. Ported out, oversized valves in them and yella terra 1.65 ratio roller rockers. Delcowizid did a real time tune and fuel map for them last month. Afte. r that I fitted VN FE2 front struts - couldnt fit the rears because I didnt have shortened shocks to keep them captive. Then this weekend just gone, I fitted a set of coby extractors, 3" exhaust to a flowmaster muffler, then 2.5" out to a resi, and the tip is a dodgy as looking twin 2".
Delco wants to tune it for the extractors some time soon. Also put my level 3 dash in this weekend.
