hey all
had this squeel for a while in my vt ss s2
now im far from a mechanic and im not 100% on what im on about here
but its been in the shop.
its got something to do with the aircon, it will squeel loud when its cold
when it gets up to running temp it can dissapear sometimes
ive had new belts put on, iddler pulleys changed, think theres 2 new ones on there.
but its still there, its a belt squeeling sound and whatever u do to it only gets rid of the squeel for a very short amount of time
anybody else out there with a vt 2 had the same problem as me ?????
oh also only SOMETIMES it will only squeel with the aircon on, but at times it will still do it with aircon turned off
The only thing that you have left to adjust or replace is your belt tensioner. If thats applying very little tension on your belt, it will cause your belt to squeal. Try a little WD40 or CRC spray on the belt tensioner first. It could just be gritty or sticking. Otherwise replace it.
yeh im guna hav a look at the tensioner
ny idea on replacement costs for one of these ?
could be the belt alignment, my ls1 belt squeeks when its cold and its due to the edge of the belt rubbing on the power steering pully
