hey guys I'm about to change my rear side welch plugs and was just wondering if its only the two bolts on the bottom of the starter motor that I have to remove to take it off?
also does it just slide out or is it abit more technical than that?
car is manual too.
I'm going to change the plugs without taking the engine out, I've been told its not too hard to do and I dont even have to take my headers off!!just the starter motor.
also anyone know a rough price on brass 1 5/8" welch plugs?
any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
from memory it just slides out
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
it does just slide out
but the problems start when you go to do the plugs behind the engine mounts
it does just slide out with a bit of a twist
the problem's start when you try to get the plug behind the engine mounts
and about the most you should pay is $3.00 each
the plugs I'm changing aren't the ones behind the engine mount, but the ones about 2 inches behind them. I've had a good look at it and I'm confident that I have enough room to get them out then use a long extension on the socket to hammer them back in from about a foot away where I have enough room to swing a hammer.
didnt think the plugs would cost much but I've been caught before buying something small and it costing a heap.
thanks for the help on the starter motor too.
