    Default Traction Control

    Hey all.

My VX S manual's traction control has just stuffed up i think.

Before when the traction control button was on there was no trac off display on the dash. But now, the trac off display on the dash is always on even if i switch it off and on.

Does that mean that my traction control is stuffed.

I have also tried the TC out by doing burn outs with it in the wet and it doesn't make the buzzing sound like when it use too. i have tried it pushin it on and then off.

Is it stuffed and how can i fix it??

    thanks.

Renew the TCS switch, if not then renew the electrical part of the ABS/TCS Module, i think that maybe its the ABS/TCS Computer, which is attached to the ABS Module.

Har - it's stuffed but don't fix it!! just saves you switching the damn thing OFF everytime you start the car!

If god had intended traction control on our commodores he wouldn't have given us accelerator pedals!

Its not hard to replace the TC switch. You could easily do it yourself with a screwdriver. I've revmoved the TC switch before in order to take light-bulb out. But I can't remember if I had to remove the centre console or not, to long ago. Switch doesn't cost much from Holden.

What do you mean "get out infront of traffic", do you mean take off from the lights? I always leave traction control on, its a safety device and I like safety. Traction control should only engage when a wheel is about to spin. When a wheel is spinning you ain't going anywhere anyway.

I've never had a problem with traction control since I put a LSD in. Now I don't have to worry as much about accidently giving to much power in wet. 18s help too.

funny thing is that my VT that doesn't have traction control, it grips the road fairly well in wet and dry with standard bridgestone RE92's, now they arent specifically wet tyres and they arent the best tyres around but that and the large 1.6 Tonne car that it is lol..... i hardley ever had problems with loosing grip.my car has no extra's.... No traction control, ABS, LSD.... nothing...... just plain old setup 3.08 Differential setup, and an 4l60E (m30) GM Transmission
