Default VT transmission - where did 4th go?

    hey guys, annoying problem.

i've got a v6 auto vt s1 wagon, and it decided it didn't want to know 4th gear anymore. been like that for a few weeks, then the battery died. after i put a new battery in, it ran fine for about 30km of highway driving, til i git a small incline, then dropped back to third, and sat there for the rest of the trip (another 900km from dubbo to the gold coast)

i have no idea whats wrong. the auto just got serviced a month or so ago, levels are fine, no leaks? i'm unsure of how to check fault codes, but any help would be awesome

    cheers guys

sounds like your 4th Apply Piston in your servo might be going....... it could possibly be something else. i would run a bottle of Nulon Transmission Conditioner through first and see how it goes my old corolla had slipping trans belts and sometimes wouldn't go into 4th (not many times it got there though).

I thought VTs only had 3 forward gears anyway?
