Close to overheating

Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on an little issue I have been having. Recently the temp needle on my VX has been getting up to the section just before red (never in the red) during the first 20 minutes or so of my journeys. Then it will settle down for the rest of the journey.

Anyone have any ideas why it suddenly runs hot (or thinks it is running hot) for a while? I should mention the car runs okay while the temp gauge is high, does not sound or act like it is overheating.

Sticky thermostat maybe?

ill agree with whats already been said, try another thermostat and see how it goes mate
