VT Aleternator. Different for Calais? HSV and standard?
Getting my alternator replaced. (through the warrenty that i have with my vt)
its a hsv senator so all electric everything, sunroof, stock stackers, amps, subs. etc, etc.
oh and V8 5.0L
will the alternator be diferent to a standard 5.0L VT?
Reason its getting replaced not recoed is because 12 months ago i got it recoed. Since then i have killed 4 batteries. (good quility top of the range centy and other brands.)
The alt keeps going dead and not charging. The little black bit on the rear gets replaced. lasts a week and the battery is flat again. Always happens while driving.
hopefuly a new alt will fix the issue!
the only thing they are replacing is the voltage reg u need to open the alt up and check the diodes ans rectifers they are probley gone
Will all the electric options you have on that car, the alternator can't generate enough amps to handle it, hence killing your battery and voltage regulator on the alternator. Check your amp rating on your alternator. If its 30A upgrade to a 100A one. you can pick them up for about 200-300 bucks
If its not working, you're not hitting it hard enough.
