    great job sproket looks tops.
I want to do the same thing to my vx had a go but only got as far as taking off the front bumper the thing wouldent come off. I took the 2 screws out each side inside the wheel arch out and also took the 3screws that are on top but the thing wouldent budge any tips? or have I missed any screws?

Well done sprocket. VT grilles minus the fins look so much better, it's a shame it's such a PITA to do! Definitely worth the effort but...

cheers! Yeh the headlights are easier than the grills i reckn, alot of sanding and mucking around to get the grills looking good.

With the headlights, you'll need to take the bumper off to get to the final bolt that holds them off. On the bumper there are 2 screws on each wheel arch, 3 in the middle and then clips on the side so just pull at the side of the bumper.

Headlights have 1 screw at the back, then clips around the edge which come off easy as. Next step is to put the headlight in the oven (yes the oven! :P) so soften up the sikaflex, then pry apart with a flathead screwdriver. Easy as!

this may be silly question, but by painting the headlight surround matte black, is this all that's required to convert headlights into SS? Is this actually all they do at the factory?
Has anyone done this and had any problems with sealing the headlights? ie. did you reapply more sikaflex to seal the beams?

    Hey man,
Good job on bumper ay, did same on my VT, so remove all stone ships .
Also did grils, but left a little fin thing inbetween them at each end, for support looks awesome, and un-meshed the back of it, and opening of bar at bottom.

Looking at doing my headlights like this, but only problem is then it not sealing properly, but i guess it will if i clean old existing sikaflex off, and reput new stuff, or silicone ay?

Also what temp did you put oven on, and how long did you leave it in there for?

    Thanks
It's worth as much as someone is willing to pay!

I didnt/havnt had any issues with moistre after resealing the headlights, I didnt apply any new sikaflex, just put back in the oven to soften it up again - pushed the edges together and reapplied the black clips and screw.

Chuck the oven to about ~100 degreese, it should get hot but if its WAY to hot to touch then bring it out.
    gl!
