VT headlight problem

just a problem with my headlights on my VT CALAIS
when i have my normal lights on the high beam section lights turn on but are dim what couses this

Simple short answer, bad earth on either headlight.

As above. However id be more inclined to think its either the indicater stalk with high beam or the headlight switch.

Id replace the indicator stalk first.
