vx auto to manual conversion...again.

hi guys,
i know i know yet another question about manual conversions. before you boys and girls go giving me links to other threads, i have checked all of them!. they are all full of quotes or guesses, all im after is a price from someone who has had this done at either a wreckers or mechanics. im leaning towards the t5 box from what ive read throughout the thread but am not overly fussed. so once again, im wanting to know what it costs from someone who has it done.

i got a quote from a commodore wrecker in adelaide for a full conversion kit, it was 2700, and then how ever much your mechanic charges to put it in. i was thinking about doing this but was gona cost to much, instead i installed a stage 2 shift kit and corvette servo on auto trans.

unless you can get all the conversion stuff cheap or you got the car really cheap to begin with it isant worth it, you will be better off selling it and getting a manual commodore instead

I paid $2500 for the entire conversion (parts), then another $500 for installation.

That was on a VT V6, the gearbox was the Getrag. No idea what's involved in fitting a T5, but I expect more than the Getrag (the stock option for the VT-VY V6)
