i took my cd player out of my ss, then sold my ss now i have a vt, i put the cd player in but is unsure how to figure out the code? any help
You will probably have a problem getting the code. The usual way to get the code is to go to Holden with your VIN and proof of ownership and they can get the code (usually for a small fee) but since you have sold the vehicle I doubt whether Holden will help you. The only other way is to try different combinations of 1,2,3,4,5,6 and hope you strike it lucky. You will only be able to try three times and then you will be locked out for a while (an hour I think) and then you can get another three tries. I doubt that this method will be successful. Your only hope is if you are able to get the new owner to help you by going to Holden and asking for the code.
Usually when you buy you car from a dealer you get a little card with the radio PIN and other information on it. Do you have that?
Good luck.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
If you have an old rego form with your name and address and the cars VIN they may give it to you. Tell them the truth and try, or tell them your wife currently has the car and current rego form but you need the pin.
They are very strict on this though, as the printout also contains the codes for the central locking to be reprogrammed and alot of other security information.
Also its $25 for the print out.
Shouldnt cost u a cent since it takes them under a minute to get the code!! but u will need to go to the holden dealer to get the code, but without the info they want, u might have a cd player that u cant use!!
Holdens can do it with a tech 2, if your lucky they wont charge you cause it takes them about 10 seconds.
As Accentstencil said you can work it out by entering all the possible codes at 3 per hour. There are about 1200 combinations, but on average you should only have to try half of them to find the right one. I tried to attach the spreadsheet but its too big. PM me if you really want it.
See if you can get a hold of the new owners? The code should be in the owners manual on a card?
Dunno if its the same for VS but the VT code is on a card with the key code, vin ect...
Just call a Holden dealer with the VIN of the original car. They shouldn't baulk at giving it to you, and if they do, try a different one![]()
Any workshop with TECH2 scanner can do it. Not just Holden
