Hi,
Well went into holden for my vt 140 000 service and would you believe it Holden pulled my pants down greased me up and split me in half, 417$ service, i needed a creak in the front end looked at heres what the recipt said

service as by the book specs 165$

inspected
found suspension components all needed tightening and rocks cleaned out
recommend replacing top strut mounts bearings and drop links 110$

trans fluid change and filter change 88$

Labour 363$
Ok I can cope with that, a little steep but ok, then they go on,

Reccomend replacing top strut mounts bearings and drop pins 573$
Dust boot perished on rear uni joint and front losing grease 319$
Extension housing seal leaking, replace while repairing uni joints.

TOTAL VALUE 1618$

HOLY ************ ************ ***** ******** *****ed

You can imagine some of the profanities that escaped my mouth when they told me this, or maybe you cant? I said no i am not paying that so they then had the nerve to turn around and say thats okay because we havent done it yet

(pause for more profanities)

so i ended up paying the 618$ for fluid service and front end inspection.

My question is can someone please tell me what and where the strut mounts bearings and drop pins are and uni joints and dust boots. ( all the expensive stuff i didnt get done) Pictures would be fantastic if available as i plan to do them myself now. How technical is this to do, i am pretty good mechanically just lacking experience.

Also can i buy the parts off this website from a sponser or someone off this website.

Many thanks in advance..
