    Default Lowering a VT

Just curious the cheapest way to lower a VT? I am not after extremely low (roughly Fe2 height).

I assume I would need a camber kit (although how bad will the wear be without?) 2 or 4 point?

Do I have IRS, how do I know?

If I were to buy a set of fe2 springs and shocks for VR-VY that have been taken off another commodore, would the fit on without needing to replace anything else?

what should I look for when buying 2nd hand springs+shocks?

    Cheers in advance

Yah or Nay on this camber kit too. If I lower it will be gradual so camber then springs and finally shocks when I can afford. Depending on how much inner wear I may get springs before camber but waiting on advice there.

All VT are IRS, Camber kit depends on the car some need it some dont, my tyres have done 15000k's and the insides are shagged without one tho

    Couple things mate.

I should probably advice against buying second hand shocks... mainly because unless they are leaking alot... you only find out they are shagged once you have the car and drive around with them.

Second hand springs are not so bad... but considering a new set of KING springs is a grand total of $250 . May aswell get them new...

If you are onyl goign to FE2 or say Kings SL (One lower than FE2), them you don't need to worry about getting shocks there and then. Your current shocks will wear a little bit quicker... they they will still do the job without and issues.

Camber has always been an issue with VT's through to VY although they tweeked the rear suspension at bit in the to help the issue but not fix it.

If youre planning on getting bigger rims too.. probably get a camber kit... the VT's in most cases had massive camber issues soon as you start lowering and having low profile tyres will compound the issue.

But as you said, you can lower it and see how you go before deciding.

OH... not sure VR suspension will work all that fantastic in VT, probably try to get your hands on suspension for a VT-VZ. Then you should be sweet.

Usually Ebay has some cheap FE2 springs. But at this time i didn't see any ?.

Try Holden and ask for the price of the springs and shocks from the VY II Calais. That was a FE1.5 lower and some say handled better then FE2.
