    Default urgent help!! jump starting VT

    ok guys my battery is dead and i need my car a hour ago
    whats the safest way to jumpstart my VT without blowing the computer

    Same as any other car. Just make sure you use a set of leads with the anti-surge cable.

    ok thanks ....ours doesnt have the surge protector so im assuming just to hook the neg onto part of the motor ?

    Connect the positives first,starting with the booster battery and then the flat battery, then the negatives to any good earthing point.

    just make sure the car that's jumping, is already started. Then hook up like "accent" said. It's a bit of a myth that you'll blow the computer. It's not that common.

    thanks guys ..prob solved...turns out battery was totally knackered so i bit the bullet and went and brought a new one....
    $114 later......man batterys have gone up since the last time i brought one for $54

    battery's usually last 2-4 years until they need replacing depending on how often you use the car
    three thing in life are guaranteed
    taxes
    death
    and car repairs
