    Default VX Exhaust Upgrade

    Hey guys,

I have a 2000 VX Executive V6 and am looking at changing the original exhaust to make it sound better, but not so much to increase performance as this would just be an added bous, because i am just after the sound.

Do you guys have any suggestions on what to install? And what kind of sound the end result will provide?

    Hope you can help me.

    Thanks.

Just about any off the shelf 2 1/2" system will make it louder. Depending on how loud you want it, there are a couple of different configurations. You can go front muffler/no rear resonator, front muffler/rear resonator, or no front muffler/rear resonator.

will any of these inparticular give a nicer sound then the rest? Are there any differences in sound between the three? or just the loudness??

you would be looking at a single 2.5"

I went out and got quotes yesterday for a catback exhaust system..Got both same prices with a twin dumpies.. $380.. only difference was... one offered straight pipes and the other bent mandrel i think it was... which one to choose and what are the differences between them?

Just about no difference in sound. Mandrel bends maintain the same diameter of the tube through the bend where as press bending has a reduction on the bends. You wouldn't feel any difference on the street. The mufflers make the most noticeable difference in sound.

Im starting to feel like a post whore... Should you get HPC coated 2.5" pacemakers, FIT 1.9's, stainless steel hi flow cat, a 2.5" sports system using a sports muffler, it will sound like this:

It comes down to personal preference. Having the hotdog front / muffler rear will give a deeper sound, the muffler front / hotdog rear is slightly louder and less deep. A bit more raspy too.

A lot of people get that, the Manta/Redback is about the best sounding in that configuration.

    Ive got a 2002 acclaim.
Got Pacemaker extractors into a muffler, then 2 1/2" through to a hotdog. Sounds like an 8. Got pulled into a drug breathe testing bay a few weeks ago, and the copper thought she was a v8.. when i told him it was a 6 he asked me to pop the hood to have a look.
