identfy lsd diff or not ?

ok first off im not about to go doing a burnout to see if i have lsd or not,

i've done a lot of searching but cant find any exact answer,

it feels like it does not but as this is my first rear wheel drive car cant be 100% sure,

so is there anyway to work out if it is a lsd diff or not on a vt berlina ?

can the codes on the car tell me if it was a factory option or is there a code i should look for on the diff

get under the car mate and have a look at the metal tag on the diff, my vs ute tag says "high preformance lsd"

should say something like that

also the other question is anyone got an idea on cost to change over to an lsd diff ?

jack the ass end up and spin one wheel by hand and the other wheel should spin the opposite way if its lsd..... not 100% sure though lol

Yep second that. -- they have a tag on the diff stating LSD, not just high performance. But realistically the gears inside are what makes it lsd. If you jack it up you can tell.

I changed mine over, due to too much noise and wheelspin all over the shop in the wet. ( still getting spin, so tyres may be the next option)

Diff cost $400 of ebay, local pick which was good for a heavy item. Then had it put in for $195 plus $39 for the lsd additive. I thought this price was great because the unit had the abs which was swapped over as well. When I went to grab my old diff and chuck it in the boot the guy gave me $20 for it. Which was much better than messing around trying to sell it to me.

definitely worth doing, much better drive now. Quieter and feels great in the wet and in the dry.

any help on what ratio's and things spline or something i should be looking for on e-bay (as there are soooooooooo many)

i just got a 3.07 LSD from a vy for my vx v6 for $300 included p&h hopfuly its just a swap over
