    Default brake shuddering, 100-80km braking

i think my front rotors are warped but it would be a guess, changed front and rear pads and still getting it at 80-100km/h braking.

Im broke ass atm, but the shuddering is annoying and makes me feel unsafe lol.. so im thinking i might go out and buy new front rotors and pads and see if that solves it (just the front).

Any reasons why this might be a bad idea?

ive been told machining them isnt so... great. For the money of getting them machined id be more beneficial for me to get them replaced. So a new pair of rotors will cost me $200 with free front bendix pads as well... its a pretty tempting vs machining and having to buy new pads anyway (since they are probably ****ed now too from the warping).

BUT if you can give me a reason why I should just get them machined and not replaced.. post them. I need to drive 2,000km over the weekend between states in the car and I want to have them done before i leave next week so...

If there's still plenty of 'meat' left on the rotor, there's no need for new ones. You only need new rotors if they've worn down enough that they can't be machined anymore.
I got quoted $60ea for new rear rotors on my calais. Ball park figure for you. So I dont think your getting free pads. I paid about $90 for bendex pads in mine now i think. So if your gonna buy new rotors and your supposed to be getting free pads then you should be paying about $120 - $150. It's usually no more that $30 to get them machined professionally.

Mine done the same thing and i bought new rotors and pads for the front but i still had the shudders . It turned out to be the rear rotors that were warped . So if you are a bit broke atm its best to be sure that it is the front ones before you start spending your money

Only if they are down to the minimum thickness from previous machining.
Get yours machined and put back in your (almost) new pads, and away you go!
Cant be more simpler than that!

how long have you been driving on them? Ive been told slotted rotors are just a waste, but again what iv been told.. never the less $150 for both isnt bad.
