    Default New Gearbox???

Been told i need a new gear box for my VT S the other day.
My mechanic quoted $2,500 ish for a complete new one, $1800 second hand?
I thought that was to much so i got a second opinion..
Got told $1300 to get new bearings.

Just wondering if i should replace the whole gear box or just get it fixed up?

    Thanks.

id say if its got a few 100,000 kms on it then just rebuilt it, but by saying that if ur motor has the same kms on it just get a secondhand one

But would they bolt up? The bellhousing pattrn is different, so can you take the V8 bellhousing off and replace with your V6 one?

it was more of an example but thats good to know that they CAN fit up lol. 1600 for a new v8 you would think a v6 would be that or alittle cheaper.
