    Default Indicator Flash Speed Changed

Just installed a new indicator flash unit as the indicators were coming on (all globes working) but either not flashing, or flashing irregularly and slowly. Now the indicators appear fine (flashing, all working) however the speed is quicker that what it was.

Have been told that the flash unit does not control the flash speed - so what else would have changed?

    Thanks

I would suggest you swap your relay with another of the same type as a test. MOST relays in those cars are the same 2 or 3 types. I doubt relays are more than 5 or 6 bucks, never had to replace one myself.

    Thanks Mick.

Is that the relay under the dash? If so, then it cost me $24. Repco quoted me $26. Was a different type, but the numbers on each of the three pins matched the ones on the original. It's working at the moment, just want to make sure that there are no other problems in the electrics.

Your new flasher unit is probably a bit faster because your old one was slowing down with age. I'd say there would be slight variations in flasher speeds with different brands.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
