get an ss inductions CAI or FIT also have a couple of good ones.

Stainless for now because your car is basically stock (im guessing) is all show and no go.

Also the steel will heat up quickly and rob you of lower air temps.

If you do use S/S piping invest in some heat wrap to insulate the pipe from heat transfer.. my 2 cents

agreed.. S/S is gonna cost ya some coin, go with proven methods, it's cheaper and will work better. heat soak from S/S counters any gains you may have found. kinda defeats the purpose of a CAI

heat wrap defeats the purpose of S/S, it's all about the bling right?

why not use alloy? still looks ok, polishable(some) and won't hold heat like stainless will

It's amazing how many people spend a lot of time and money for something that doesn't do very much at all on a V6.

My advice would be to spend your money on a tune. There are a couple of good tuners on here in Greenfoam and delcowizzard, you will see better power and economy in a tune for probably less money than you could ever hope to get from any CAI.

lol i really appreciate the input boys...it all helps and in thankful for it.....any info i get get is better then nothing...i agree on the tune, that is also on the to do list. the main reason for the cai is one it breath's easier and a bit more power, and also for some bling under the hood, so all of this is helping...dont argue guys :P

It will definitely add bling. It will add zero power. It will, however, give you better cruising economy.

otrcai + ls1 = power gains and worth the money

cai + ecotec = waste of time and money bling doesnt get you to 100 any faster

you already have a cai from factory so changing it to something else wont make it any more efficent

Agreed, you will only gain about 5rwkw at the most. A better air filter (K&N) is a no brainer. But go for something thats more bang for yr buck. FIT and YT have some great BFYB mods.

iv acually heard that even the hiflow filter like k and n ext are a waste of money on a v6 becuase apparently the airfilter is the least restrictive thing in the whole inlet system so it dosent do much help.
Iv been told that changing diff gears, getting a tune and even some hi ratio rockers are the best bang for your buck mods.

They are the little arms that push the valves open. High ratio ones open the valves more and let more air/fuel in and more exhaust out. They give you better acceleration.

YT has a good rep, they are new too, not remanufactured like a few of the others.

As for the amount of power increase...that is debatable. Google it, you may come up with before and after dyno results.
