    Default Brake Upgrade

    Hello everyone.

I am currently in a position where I need to upgrade my brakes.
I would prefer something that came out factory on a Commodore or HSV.

After doing some research I have discovered that HSVs run a Harrop calliper system but this is too much for what I need.
Unfortunately I cannot determine the specifications of SS Commodores where I believe they would run a 330mm front disk.
Harrop sells a kit that puts 330mm front disks on with a special calliper bracket but seems to run the PBR callipers that are standard on Commodores. No information is given if they do actually use the PBR Calliper.

My question is do SS Commodores have 330mm front disks using the standard PBR calliper with a calliper bracket that is like in the Harrop upgrade kit?
Has anyone successfully upgraded their brakes using such a bracket with 330mm disks and larger pads?

Would you consider the VE upgrade?

    VE twin pot calipers
Curved slot and dimpled rotors 322mm
    New braided lines
    New pads
    New mounting bolts and brackets
    New brake fluid

    $695 for the VX.

    Yes I would.
Do you sell these kits yourself?

Are these what the VE run as standard?

If they are then its easy for replacements then.

The pads and calipers are yes, but the rotors are developed for each model as a retro fit. The rotors that fit the VX aren't the same ones that go on a VE, but they are always going to be readily available.

All VT-VZ brakes V6 and V8 are the same. The only difference is the HSV upgrade which was optional.

Is this just for the front or all fours?

Front only. The rears are plenty good enough. As another member keeps saying, the rear brakes on the VT onwards are bigger than the Falcon turbos so they don't need upgrading.
