So I have had this starting problem on my VT II since I got it. Tried this, tried that and checked lots of stuff.
I recently found this service hint in the component changeover program section of my VT Workshop manual.
The symptom has been the most spot on match to mine so far. It says: " When turning ignition key to the "Crank" position, the engine turns over but doesn't start immediately. The start delay varies, but could range from a few seconds to half a minute"
The resolution/action is: "Interference on the serial bus. Check earth "A" near the battery and the earth on the ABS module located behind the driver's side kick panel. If OK, call Australian Arrow for further assistance."
So my question is; can anyone describe to me and/or show me in a picture exactly where these earths are.
have you found where these eath points are? i'm curious aswell?
Hmmm.. have you tried getting a earthing wire kit from Auto shop or Ebay? i earthed my car via -Neg battery all around my engine and earthing points on the cars engine well.? not that exp round 70bux. might help too?
Had a look on eBay and they have universal 9mm earthing kits. Seems like a bit of an overkill to change all the earths to thicker wire. Does it actually improve performance?
I might look into this however, if I am not satisfied with checking all the earths and cleaning them.
Anyone else got anything to add?
These days I'm leaning towards fuel pressure problem. I changed the pump and it improved slightly, less priming needed to get a decent start. Could be injector 'o' rings. Fuel pressure reg. would demonstarte an obvious drop in performance.
