    Lightbulb VX Series II Stock Front Speakers!

    Hey guys, i was just wondering what the size of the stock speakers in the front doors of the Series 2 VX Exec's are.
    Are the 6" or 6.5"?
    I have been given some decent pioneer 6" speakers and if there the same size i can just swap them straight with the stock ones yeah?
    Thanks

    yup

    VX is 6"

    people put 6.5" in but you need to modify the speaker pods, and as I found out that doesnt always work in yoru favour. I wish I had stuck to 6" speakers now because my 6.5" rattle against the speaker pod with bass.

    6" = easy as!

    6.5" inch is fine, you'll just need a dremel to cut the hole bigger. Make some gaskets from 3mm closed cell foam to sit between the speaker and pod. Perfect seal and no rattles .

    ^^^ And incase you don't have a dremel, like me.. unfortunately! You can just use side cutters, or pliers and cut/bend/snap a little bit out at a time.. Take you time and do it neatly, end product will be fine..

    And double sided tape works well, had some in the garage, so I gave it a run, and NO rattles!!

    Hey guys I have a VT berlina and was wondering if you chuck in some aftermarket speakers like 130 Watt speakers for example, would you actually gain much out of the speakers if they are powered off an aftermarket head unit that is 4x50 watt? I was given some Sony speakers and i plan to put them in the front doors but i dont know if it is really worth it and i dont plan on buying another amp just for the speakers. If anyone can help that would be great

    I believe the newer speakers would sound better, but are running at nowhere near they're potential.

    I wouldn't really say that. If they are too cheap they probably won't be any better, you need something half decent.

    Well i have some Sony 130W, 2 way speakers. They are not great but they aren't cheap. So these will sound better running just off the headunit??

    Yes they will. May not be heaps louder but will sound better. Even crap sonys that I've heard running off stock headunits are a noticable improvement from standard

    Sweet thanks mate, is there any need to upgrade the tweeters in the dash or the rear speakers or is there no real point if i'm just running of the headunit? I have a monoblock for the sub and i dont really want more amps
