    Default Changing Bonet Struts

Ok before you all rant and rave about a search, I search and had to look through 9 pages of totally unrelated crap.

Now onto my problem. Bonet struts gave way on me yesterday and the bonet hit me in the head, after quite a considerable amount of money later (atleast I think so for a pair of bonet struts) I have purchased some new ones.

Get home get all excited to put some new struts in and WHAM. Funny looking bolt/screw holding the exisiting struts in, appears to be a star.

How do I get these ****ing things out of my engine bay.

    SEARCH!!!!

Nah the bottom is a Torx screw, and the top you need to flick the little clip out with a screw driver and pull the strut. Make sure you have the bonnet supported when removing them, I forgot to do that and it ****ing hurts lol.

Out of curiosity, how much did they set you back for a new pair?

Went to Repco and they wanted to sell me Monroe ones for 60 bucks EACH, or they had some other sort for 30 each so I grabbed the cheaper pair, but I had to go to two different stores because my local only had 1, and the one just past that one had another.

Ok Cheers Torx screw, gotta find me one of them. Step dads tool chest is a mess.

Shit, that seems quite expensive, they would want to be damn good struts for that.

got mine of ebay 34$ a pair including postage to syd they are so good i just pop the bonnet releas the clip and they go up by them selves as fo changing them you dont need to undo the torx bolts just pop the top clip from the strut u can then hold the bottom strut with a pare of plyers and unscrew then simply screw the new one back in and clip the top one in the ball to easy

I paid $25 for a new pair on ebay.

I found that the passanger side torx screw that holds the accelerator cable clamp was rubbing on the new strut.

Anyone else have this issue? Its not so bad that the bonet moves though.
