    Default Vt utr cai

VT Under The Radiator Cold Air Intake.

    Finished this project.

Unfortunatly I can not take pics until I get a camera, However I "tried" to draw a diagram.

The Cream colour is the 90mm PVC piping.

The dark grey is the high flow pod filter.

The light grey is the standard air box.

Flow restriction is now minimal. No corigated rubber. No MAF filter. Cleaned & polished MAF Sensor.
Only restriction is from the pod filter itself.
    Everything is sealed and solid.

Maybe not the best CAI mod so far but its very effective.

Whats the YT intake look like?

As far as I know, No aftermarket intakes use the standard air box?

Probebly the same kind of setup as YT though with the standard box, not just a pod cover?

    Dunno yet..

I would say it will be fine through water aslong as it doesnt pass the skirt line, takes a fair bit for water to ride up the pipe.

Im more worried about it acting like a big vacumn cleaner gotta figure out a way to get the pipe higher.

I've done the same to my car (you can look at pics if you follow the link in my sig), i don't get any dirt in my air box, and nothing has gotten through the fly screen so far. Water is not a problem because of it's location, i'd have to drive through a puddle i guess for water to even touch it

i had a similar set up on my old lancer and i had heaps on water related trouble but i guess that depends more on location (heaps of rain fall and creeks here) one thing i'd suggest is a set up i seen where they had a similar thing you have but a second small round foam pipe like filter that allowed it to run it the other filter ****ed up

    Its slightly different.

I didnt cut another hole in the airbox, its running from where the OTR pipe is from and the OTR pipe is now non existant.
And I havent cut my bottom plastic bash gaurd trim. (it sits slightly below to scoop it up)

How did you go with filling in the surround of the pipe as the original hole is oval shaped?

The 45 degree downpipe angle fits snug sideways in the hole.
Just used black ducktape to seal it.

sweet, nice work.Does it sit to much below the front guard, mine roughly sits with about 3/4 of the face of the pipe showing as it comes down on a slight angle, i'll have to get a pic to properly see lol I have alot of speed humps around where i live and as i want to lower the car soon and was sceptical as to wether it would hit the humps while going over them
