hey mate
i have a similar sort of problem, i got a vt II spack manual, and yeh when taking out of gears she seems to hold revs, i would like some light on this too, im pretty sure it nothing to worry about tho, not gonna cause any damage
i have a vx manual to and she does the same thing holds revs abit when changing gears, i only noticed it when i got extractors and cat back exhaust

I don't know if this is what is happening to your car but my Wife purchased a VX and the accelerator would stick now and again. Took it back for warranty 6 times they couldn't get it to do it said we were full of it . So I took a look at it( Long story Why it took me so long to look at it for her)But what was happening was where the Cable goes around the shock tower there is a insulator on it to stop the rubbing well that was getting caught with the twist of the motor under the cup on top of the tower.. Took off the Foam/insulation and its been sweet since..
Hope this helps if not you others..
Why is it called Alcoholics Anonymous when the first thing you do is stand up and say, 'My name is Ray, and I am an alcoholic'?
yeh im the same with extractors a full exhaust, im thinking of getting a tune, might help the problem, but also going to look at what you said DVOLVO, could b the same simple little problem
2 Things I would do.
1. Check the cable isn't sticking, maybe WD40 it and then send some oil on it too.
2. Vacum hoses, make sure they are all connected properly and there a re no leaks.
Other than that, unless you've been paying with your TPS or IAC recently, I'm out of ideas.
Good luck
Ok i had same problem found out it was ,i dont know the name but on the throttle body is the 2 sensors one is TPS and the other one that is right upthe top ,well i replaced that one and the problem was solved ,it controls the idle so i was told.$35.00 from holden all fixed ..,.
FYI, there is only one sensor on the TB. The TPS, the other item you speak of is the IAC valve pictured below:
As glowworm said, this controls the idle rpm by allowing more of less air to bypass the TB butterfly.
If it is faulty and stuck open, the car will idle high. Also the car rpm will drop more slowly when you take your foot off the accelerator.
If it's not the IAC, it could also me a faulty TPS, as the information the PCM gets from the TPS governs the IAC position.
Good luck.
I've talked to Holden's service adviser and he didn't think the problem caused by the IAC valve, he reckoned the TPS is faulty. also, IAC valve is gonna cost $120+ from Holden. what are you guys talking about $35 ??
any more info guys ??
Cheers
