hey guys!
I've got a vt berlina that i bought with a fibreglass vx clubby body kit a couple years ago. As i'm sure most of you would be aware how crap fibreglass can be, my front bar didn't take long to get damaged(side skirts and rear are still in great condition tho). Had heaps of stone chips, cracked at the base, the works and was getting to be a bit of an eye sore. Finally decided to do something about it, researched prices, quotes n stuff and found a genuine bar for $600, painted and fitted all up for $1000! Very happy with the result!
My next issue is the foglamps. The ones in the previous bar were aftermarket ones which suffered greatly, a couple of days after purchasing the car one of them stopped working and within a year both were smashed from stone chips. The guy who painted and fitted the new bar got a quote of $200 EACH for the lights from HSV, no way i could justify that amount for a little light!
Been running internet searches on em and most on ebay are aftermarket but i want em to fit in the bar properly and not get damaged easily. My next best offer i've had is a couple of genuine ones for $149 each. Still a bit pricey for my liking and wondering if you guys have any input on this topic?
Any help would be greatly appriciated or am i just gonna have to bite the bullet and fork out the cash?
I got a price from holden for vt clubby ones at $256 each so i think $149 for genuine is reasonable,
But being genuine wont stop them from getting damaged any less then aftermarket ones just dearer to replace.
