Spun them all by hand no noise even spun the alternator,ps pump water pump ext and nothing made a noise. Whats the most commom pully to go on these?

ok took the belf off again and went over everything again, im pretty sure its the alternator making the squeal can hear a faint squeal when you spin the alternator fast by hand. How much would I be looking at for a replacment or changeover? how commom is it for them to be noisy?
    thankyou

Is the problem only at idle or to a certain rev?

usually if it squeels up to say 5000rpm its a pulley, but if it only squeels at idle and goes away when reving or when the engines warm its the belt.

I dont think it would be the belt its ony 5000kms if that old. I'v checked all the plleys they all seem fine Im almost certain that its either the alternator or the power steering pump. I can here its come from that area. Anyway way I could check what it is? so I dont replace the wrong part. Also noticed that my water pump pully looks as if its got abit of a up down wobble on it only slighly though. All the bolts are tight. is this normal

Is the belt tight enough, aka doesn't allow more than a couple of cm of downward pressure on belt.

Sounds as if the belt is a little noisy, new or not. To eliminate it, get a bar of soap and CAREFULLY hold it against the 'V' grooves with the motor running. The squeek will stop if it is the belt.

^^^^^^^A/C has the same belt as its a V6.. Only V8s have seperate belts

Still could be a belt have found a couple of times replaced a belt and customer comes back with squeal.. Check a few things and ended up replacing the belt and no more squeal...

Sometimes you get a dodgy belt..

I put soap on the belt like suggested and it made no difference. Also put my spare belt on and still made the noise so its not the belt. I can hear it coming from the area of the alternator or power steering pump. Would they both squeak when there on there way out?

Replace your alternator. They're approx $300
If its not working, you're not hitting it hard enough.

Its one of the bearings on the pulleys, find out which one is making a noise when you spin it by hand. You may be able to get just the bearing or the pulley without having to replace whatever its connected to.
