Default How to remove tweeters from dash. (VT)

Im replacing my speakers in my VT Senator. I want to know how to remove the front dash pannel on top of the dash up the front where the tweeters are.
I have removed the air vent and undone the screw behind that. Is there any other screws? Do you have to use force and they just unclip once that one screw is undone?

Also where is the crossover located? I gather there would be one in the factory HSV front component speakers?

    Cheers!

the factory splits have a cap inline to stop low freq getting to them, after you take out the three screws of the side dash vent panel, there is one in the side of the window piece and then the panel unclips by pulling it backwards in line with the windscreen.

get the door wires going into the pillar at the gromet. I just hook my crossovers up there and run fresh wires to the tweeter.
if you got factory sub setup, there is a seperate amp somewhere up the back.

ok great too easy. yes it does have factory subs. I just changed them to pioneer 8" shallow mount ones =). The amps i am keeping the one that run the front and rear speakers. The one that runs the factory subs im upgrading to a monoblock.

    cheers

the fronts runfrom the head unit itself i think, the subs have a seperate amp that runs off the rear speaker output.
mrVT, i dont think the wiring is there but you only need to bridge it off the door speaker outputs. if you get the stock tweaters, they have a cap mounted to them that cuts out all low end stuff.
im looking at doing the pioneer shallow mount to match my new HD3 unit, but i got fusion gear coming out my ears so may put some of that into use.

the pioneer 8 inch shallow mounts do fit. but you need to trim the metal ever so slightly. (about 5mm around the edge at the front).

The HSV's came with two amps. one runs the subs. one runs the front and rear door speakers. Nothing is run from the head unit.

Where bouts do the amps get mounted? I have stripped my entire car apart from the shelf and cant find another amp, they must use high level inputs from the head unit. The maestro unit still runs the same harness and has the stacker unput. All the speakers are 2ohm in the doors and i think the subs are also 2ohm units.
I do not mind the sound of the stock subs, rather these for now as i need a boot but may just throw some Jonah Lomuh series Fusions i got laying round at home in a box down the track.

In later models the amp is in the boot on the passenger side behind the carpet (not on the floor but up the side).
