VT engine swap

Just bought a VT from a mate for $700 cause the big end bearing was shagged as was a lifter or something, anyway it did ok but eventually clapped out on me 5km from home.
i estimated $600 for a new motor and another $700 to put it in. Am i way off or is this realistic?
Does anyone have any experience with this, or even on upgrading to the supercharged? I'm fine with the NA V6 but if there's not that much of a difference in price and parts etc I'll consider it.

Been looking around for a couple of months now for a good price on the Super6 but looking at $4750 new price and around $2500-$3500 for a secondhandie...Mech mate of mine reckons start havin dramas with the supercharger after around 150,000kms you should get a vt/vx n/a V6 for under $500 no worries sold mine for $400 with 120,000kms
