According to the Holden service manual for the VT you must not reuse the bolts that attach the diff housing to the IRS cradle. Just wondering who actually replaces the bolts? Wouldnt a little loctite on the old bolts do the job? Or is it because they are torque to yield bolts?
I guess its just a precation? i bought new ones from holden the other day $5.50 each! i wood just re use the old ones i only bought new one because it was stripped lol
they are torque to yeild, and actually strtch quite a bit when they tighten up.
$20 isnt alot for peace of mind tho
What he said.
You'll be alright reusing them for a short period, but put new ones in as soon as practical.
Last time I did mine, the bolts needed were:
2x GM-11024012 (Diff mount to carrier) @ $3.60ea
4x GM-92138390 (Diff mount to crossmember) @ $1.65ea
= peace of mind @ $13.80
