Hi,was just wondering if my 1998 vt calais auto has traction control, theres no button down by the shifter near the power button where it should be,no light in insrtument cluster track off or anything, iam confused because certain commodore sights say traction control was standard on the vt calais with auto and a option on the manuals(my calais is a series 1 dec 1998).Any insight into this would be helpful.
try checking 4 a traction fuse?
you should have a switch... umm, without suggesting you do anything illegal at stupid speeds, just give the loud pedal a little kiss in some random empty car park with a bit of lock wound on, see if she arcs up or farts and coughs whilst displaying the "holy crud" light.. then u can be sure![]()
Checked fuse box no dedicated fuse for tc,no tc lights in dash when you turn on ignition,so i suppose i aint got it,when it rained the other day i pulled out on to the main road and gave it fist full and back wheels arced up and it didnt sound like it was trying to choke itself to death..
I believe it was an option on the Series 1 VT, but standard on the VT Series II. For a Calais at least...
If there's no fuse for it, and no switch or light, I'd suggest yours wasn't optioned with it from factory bud. There's actually two lights FYI, one is "Trac Off" for when the system is off, and "Low Trac" for when it's on and working to get traction. So if there wasn't a flashing light on your dash when the wheels arced up it's not on the car, sorry mate
