    Default Installing new springs

    hiyas.

Mate of mine is able to get me cheap kingsprings - gonna get superlows for my VTsII.

He installed them on his VZ ute last week and didnt have any dramas. Is it basically the same for the VT sedan? I know the back is a bit different to the ute.

Is there a basic guide how to do it if we get stuck? Anything vital i need to know? We've got access to a heap of tools and that at his workshop (hes an apprentice boilermaker at a trucking company).

    cheers

Basically the same. Just remember to have the hand brake off when doing the rears or the control arm won't hang down far enough to get the springs out.

also put car in neautral, undo the 21mm shocker bolt, standard springs take a bit of getting out. i fing using a crow bar or sometrhing similair 4 leverage is good.

Damn, Not_An_Abba_Fan beat me to it.

In regards to the crow bar... umm. I hope you don't mean to lever down the control arm? You can destroy bushes and joints doing that.

Easier to hire out some spring compressors. One either side of the spring, tighten them equally and the spring comes out with minimal effort.

The superlows should go in without the need for spring compressors, but they will make the job easier once again.

    Good luck!

Just a long screw driver will pop them out. You may have to undo the toe adjuster rod if it has one, (VT II has them I think) this allows the control arm to drop a bit more.
