Possibly a broken wire in the rubber boot where the loom goes from the body to the door. With the constant opening and closing of the door sometimes a wire can break.

Is it not locking? or is it locking but the lock stays up?

As mentioned above, check the loom with a multimeter. Connect the plugs to the end of the multimeter and unlock/lock it and see if theres power to the lock motor.

Most common fault is that one of the locking arms (the steel rods) that connect from the motor to the lock come off. Drivers door is most common.

I had exactly the same issue on mine, the wires were broken smack in the middle of the rubber boot.

It's a hell of a job to fix, mine would open but not lock so I had to lock it manually all the time. I had a look on a VX and they have changed the design of the boot and used better wires.

When you pull off the boot it will probably tear at the end a little so have some silicone standing by to put it back on. Or you can do what I did, remove the plug and socket, join all the wires manually and use the rubber boot from a VX.

While your doing that do the speaker wires as well because they will also break if they haven't already.

The VT series 2 has the same loom as the VX, a much better design and easier to unplug without damaging the boot.
