Default Which Clutch + Flywheel package?

    Hey guys,

I'm going to be doing a manual conversion and I'm planning on buying a new clutch + flywheel package off eBay.

Can anyone tell me if there's any reason to choose this one:
Holden Commodore VS VT VX VY v6 CLUTCH KIT & FLYWHEEL - eBay Clutches, Transmission, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 21-Aug-09 17:30:40 AEST)

    Over this one?
COMMODORE S2 VS VT VU VX 6 CYL CLUTCH KIT & FLYWHEEL - eBay Clutches, Transmission, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 29-Aug-09 18:12:05 AEST)

I'm also on the lookout for the actual parts needed to do the conversion, a local wrecker has a conversion package for $1400 but I'm hoping I might be able to snap something up a bit cheaper unless that package has a flywheel + clutch in good nick

Was that with a new clutch and flywheel?

I know you can get the packages with them, but heaps of people have recommended to me to go the new parts to make sure they're at least in good condition.

That's more expensive than both the two I listed, and doesn't really answer my question :P

Actually its $5 cheaper than the first one. And he did kind of answer your question, you asked why the first one is more expensive than the second. He replied that the one he show is same price and a brand we all know and trust. The second clutch in the OP doesn't state a brand so I wouldn't trust it till I found out what it is.

I personally be asking that local wrecker of yours if that conversion package has a clutch and flywheel (wouldn't be much of one if it doesn't) and finding out what condition they are in.

    in.
Yeah that second one doesn't state a brand or whether or not it is heavy duty, so if not, it could be quite a rip off.
If you wanna go heavy duty, that one from Kensington looks to be the way to go, pureply because of the brand.

Yeah, I'm avoiding the 1000+ ones... I know you can get them sub $1000 on ebay. I just want to save as much money as I can do safely.

I could go and take a pic of what you get, but that involves going outside(already got a fresh beer) and opening the shed again

Haha, that's fine I'll take your word for it.

I'm not sure if that guy selling the VY gearbox has everything... ie. clutch pedal box, master + slave cylinders, crossmember, etc. I haven't heard back from him yet but I'm guessing he was hoping to do a gearbox replacement in his VS, not a full manual conversion
