Hi all again, now! for another problem, the girlfriends vx has a bad petrol smell in side the car where do I start to look ? thanks
Check fuel lines, fuel tank and injectors for leaks. Also depends what fuel is run.... unleaded 91,95 or 98? has a VR which did the same thing.... used octane 98 from then onwards.... problem fixed.

I had that problem a while ago and it ended up being the petrol cap not being tightened properly. I now make sure I grab the outside edge of the cap and give it a good twist.
Or maybe check that the rubber seal on the cap is still in tact!
Good luck!
Mig.
ok! ill give it ago,

i have a vn commodore that does the same thing, only when i have over 3/4 tank, is the petrol cap suposed to hiss when u undo it? because my other commo did but this one doesnt, im thinking maybe its the cap aswell
not so much a petrol smell in the cabin but i get it if the window is down.
My exhaust has a 2.5" crack just before the 5th exhaust manifold runner, and thats what i think mine is.
it could be the breather lines around the neck of the filler.just a guess.had the similar problem on my vnss turned out to be the breathers.
could be the charcoal canister needs to be replaced, its a small box at the end of the fuel return line
Yer the breather on my vs was broken so this mite be the problem
