Default 2001 VX S ideas and suggestions?

    hey guys
sorry for the newbie question but i tried to search around and couldn't really find what i was after,
i own a 2001 VX S.its my first car and i know a little bit about cars but not a great deal.
its pretty much stock S pack with the only mods i know of are pacemaker extractors,2.5" exhaust system (unknown brand for now) and lowered with King Springs
plan to get it on my grandfathers hoist some time soon and will find out more details
If anyone knows of any "must do mods" or something that i should look into
could you let me know in this forum? i don't know where i really want to start or know what i can and cant.ive been doing some research into the car for a week and im a little confused
ANY help or suggestions are really appreciated and will be well researched
also if anyone knows any good place in WA to get parts, etc please let me know also
    thanks guys

Hi mate, if I were you, just leave the VX a cruiser. Some nice big rims, and a stereo, dont spend a cent performance wise, not worth it on the 6 otherwise you'll be spending big bucks. The more you do to the car, generally the more problems you'll have with them. Goodluck.

I agree, sounds like some good mods have been done already. Only thing would be a camber kit in the rear if it hasn't been done or if its not a VXII.

I'd save your money for worn out bushes, air con compressor, etc. Only upgrade parts if they wear out or fail. I wish I'd taken this advice on my car. Spent so much money and it's unbearable to drive... Wish I'd left it alone!

you could go a pod filter and a cold air intake, theres lot of debate with them but as long as they get cold air they do "slightly" increase pickup, nothing spectacular but you do notice it

As people have said, don't bother with performance mods... you will spend alot for little gain. Trust me, been there, done that. Sold the car and lost ALOT of money.

Maybe some rims, interior upgrades... since when you drive you're IN the car... so these will make it a more pleasant experience for you as the driver.

    Final note.

    POD Filter = FAIL!

Unless you install it properly in its own cavity insuklated from the engine air... so it would just be cheaper to get a CAI and keep the panel filter.

    Have fun!

Alot of the guys on here have gotten creative with some PVC piping and black paint.

SS inductions CAI's are REALLY overpriced but do the job on a v6.

Only real recommendation I could make is whatever you decide, K&N filter. I had one in my VX S and I've got one in my BMW.
