Climate Control back lighting failed

Hey all, sorry if this has been covered I tried a search but to no avail!

Last night when I started my car up and turned the lights on i noticed the back lighting of the LCD screen or whatever of the climate control in my vx calais was not working. I had noticed when it WAS going that one half was a bit dimmer than the other.

What is the fix for this? a simple bulb is it a lot more complicated than that.

New bulbs is all you need but they are a bit expensive.

is it very technical to remove the dash and DIY?

Once you remove the consul cover and dash surround it is straight forward. Do a search for how to remove the dash surround, the information is there somewhere, good luck because I can never find what I want. If I find it I'll get back to you.
