    Default VXII Alarm/Immobolizer help

How you going guys. Ive got a VXII Acclaim with factory alarm/immobolizer.

Now, if i sit inside my car, lock the doors, and manually pop the doors (simulate somebody breaking into my car) the alarm should go off yes?

When i do it, it only goes off sometimes, and when it does go off, its only indicators flashing. I can hear the siren relay clicking in rhythm with the indicators, but there is no beeping!

I also get no beeping when i lock my doors. Is this normal? Ive tried swapping out the relays and the fuses are fine. Ideas?

Does your horn work? Because I thought that the factory alarm used the horn.

Disconnect the horn near the firewall and connect 12 volts to it to see if it works. I don't think you will fail the VIV (whatever that is) if the alarm doesn't work.

VIV is the pits by vic roads. I was told car has to be 100% in line with manufacturer specifications if i want to pass the ViV test (car was written off) and get it registered

I think there is a time delay (30 seconds?) that if you open the door in that time the alarm wont go off. if you can hear the relay clicking but no horn noise then possibly the relay tips have failed

Ive tried swapping out the relays with other matching ones front different systems that i know work, and still no go! Tomorrow when theres daylight im going to try hook up 12v to the horn see if it works.

And lout, i tested the alarm by sitting in the car, locking the doors, waiting a couple minutes, and then opening the doors. no go.

Anarklov3r when you lock your doors you shouldn't get a horn noise, never have in my car, same with unlocking, no horn.

1 flash from indicators when locking
2 flash from indicators when unlocking

My alarm works with sound from siren.

Two beeps for un-arm and flashes from lights twice
One beep for arm and static lights flash once

Horn only really sounds when car is locked. If you open boot wait 30 seconds or so, lift up bootlid and horn will sound.

hook up a relay to the output on the BCM that sends power to the central locking actuators. That way when doors lock / unlock it will beep as many times as it flashs. But when you dead lock your car, you will get one LONG beep. lol

Yeah mate you can make the horn sound when you hit unlock and lock by going through the factory menu depending on the model of your car if you hold in the menu button with ignition off and hold it in turn the ignition to on this should come up with a menu on your dash. scroll through it untill you find the lock unlock function.
