pro ratchet reverse pattern help

hey guys just wondering if the only way to reverse pattern shift with a pro ratchet is through transmission? or is it possible to custom add a Z gate or something. i know theres the b&m Z gate but iv heard theyr unreliable and iv already purchased the pro ratchet.
